Friends' pages, annotated,
an eclectic collection!

  • Wana Beth, friend, neighbor, riding buddy, inspired baker, artist (Western Art), and all round best human being. Mountainair NM.  There is a picture of us hacking out on the Caer Wydr "about" page.
  • Cartwheel Pony Farm, OK, Janet Crouch, driving ponies, Section B Welsh (Caer Wydr Brian's daughter Angel & her daughters) and AMHR minaiture horses.
  • Robin des Jardins, Imagio Studios & The Art Center of Mountainair NM. Artist, musician, Gurdjeffian, formerly dreamer of Mountainair as dotcomplex, about to graduate from UNM Valencia in Studio Arts, and now relocated to Belen.
  • Youngsville Fan Club, Youngsville Louisiana. Youngsville HS is my alma mater, where I was salutatorian, yearbook editor, student council president, and YHS delegate to Pelican Girls State (this being Louiaiana, we learned a lot about fixing elections and vote buying under the table), as well as earned the distinction of having edited the only Yearbook to be censored. Best runions on the planet. Laisser les bon temps rouler.
  • Cherry Wilson, Bristol Pony Farm, New Ulm TX. Pony pictures and pedigrees.  Emphasis on big Bs but includes Bristol As & mini.  Very first "pony person" I got to know well, visiting often over the years, first at Channelview and now in New Ulm. Many are the nights spent over cheap wine, pedigrees, and old pony pictures, contemplating notions such as entering a chimp in equitation classes (the rule says under 18 but nothing about the rider's species) or breeding a longear to show in half Welsh classes.
  • Sandy Marx, Scribing, Reitinstitut, Shadowfax Farm, Crowley LA.  Great friend - even if she does not write often enough. - chiropracter, pragmatic practitioner of holistic medicine, and Tehcnical Delegate for Dressage & Combined Driving.
  • Plantation's Pride Pony Club, Lafayette LA. Back in Riding Place days, I was a volunteer USPC instructor PPC & used to load up the trailer with Cody & the Welsh for my students to ride at Rallies. At one time, Mother was contemplating a novel tentatively titled, "The Pony Club Wars."
  • Laura Ryan, Cedar Lane Farm, Thoroughbreds, Sporthorses, Eventers, Opelousas LA.  Laura made the wise & so much more fun decision to give up on being a Dressage Queen and event instead. To event with her daughter instead of being a horse show mother.
  • Gail Morris, Gayfields Welsh, always remembered with deep appreciation for helping me get my ponies home from Missouri so many years ago.  Louisiana Lagniappe, Homestead Flirt's *Brockwell Spider daughter, LOM producer bred by Cliff Merchant and Caer Wydr is grande dame/dam of the Gayfields B mare band and will leave a lasting imprint on US Section B breeding.
  • David Winet - EFI (English for the Internet), Berkeley CA.  I started volunteer teaching for EFI back at Davis because I wanted to learn how to teach online and get ESL teaching experience.  We are always on the lookout for volunteers because that is the only way EFI can continue to offer free classes. If you are interested, check out the page and write David or drop in at the Sunday teacher's seminar.
  • Pat Harvey, Writing Matters, lives on an island off Vancouver, Canada. Pat's page is still up but she is taking a break from teaching ESL online and asked not to be linked. Her huband, Wayne (aka the Bear), sells telescopes online so I might add his if I can find it.
  • Dale Harris - poetry and pottery. Sunflowers. Poetry slammer. Organizer of annual Poets & Writers Picnic in Mountainair.
  • Tony Leuzzi's excellent poetry, Rochester NY.  We were in the USL MA program in Lafayette together. Tony edits, writes, and teaches at Rochester Community College. I am pleased to have the one to introduce him to C.P. Cavafy.
  • Pecan Creek Welsh Ponies & the Pecan Creek "little people" (4-legged), Jane Cozart (aka WWW for "Wicked Witch of the West"), Moran TX.  Caer Wydr Brian, my first Grenadier foal, was her first Sec B stallion, which makes us kin, Welsh-wise.
  • Tangwyllt Farm (Welsh, natch) & The Welsh Connection (moribund but may do phoenix thing), Claudia Novak, Dunstable MA.  Not just ponies - many informative pages on places visited in Europe and the US.
  • Margaret Badger-Blackert, Tylwyth Pony Farm, East Bernard TX.  Possbily the best Section A ponies in the country & maybe on the planet.  Repository of Texas Stud lines, including the produce of Avalon Bonnie Tlws.
  • Lynn Fitzgerald, Excel Pony Farm, Beaumont TX.  Home of Xanadu's daughter, Divide's Luck of the Irish (Paddy), who much resembles her sire & is getting the chance to be both beloved personal pony & versatile competition pony - everything I always knew her pop had the potential to be.
  • Mary Beth Tarver, Dividing Ridge Farm, Many LA.  Xan's final home, where he had the great good fortune to end his days as beloved 1st pony of Mary Beth's 1st grandson. This, I suspect, had always been his true vocation ever since Pilar, as a 6 year old, declared him her pony & would lead hm about by the mane.
  • Jim Graham, our very favorite 3-day eventer in the universe, Meadow Run Farm, Florence AL. More than just a talented rider, Jim is an outstanding trainer and instructor.  Taking up eventing at turning 40, I spent a grueling but exhilarating and unforgettable December at Meadow Run as working student.  Driving in I noted a number of x-country jumps that I knew I would not be jumping. Ha!
  • Celeste LeTard Williams, Tiedyefor's Journal & Maison Celeste, where she is getting started selling her original design and collages on line. The themed (Paris, Mexico, Texas, Vampires, etc) Valentine designs are well worth the visit Celeste teaches ESL (used to teach French until jobs dried up) in K-12.  She also has a food blog with lots of recipes. Now if she would only stop referring to Sable as her pony who just happens to be living with me, all would be syncopatic
